Doug Stephen writes the songs and then asks friends to record his records. He sings everything, although he'd rather someone else did that. He often asks people like Jason Warriner (ProCon Records), Via Nuon (Bevel, Manishevitz), Geoff Atkinson (Telenovela), Jason Toth (The Zincs), and Ben Schulman (The Lesser Birds Of Paradise, Contraphonic Records) to lend a hand on the records. Recently, Mark Greenberg of Mayfair Recordings (and the Coctails, Eleventh Dream Day, Archer Prewitt) took some time between Andrew Bird sessions, and lent a hand finishing up some songs.
