Band Members: Although I've been blessed to play music with many great players, the Core of my band is: Lester Estelle on Guitar; Rob Bowen on Drums; Efrain Flores on Bass. Oh yeah & ME!
Influences: My musical influences are: Otis Taylor, Reba Rambo(the greatest songwriter ever), Dotti Rambo, Peter Gabriel, Michael McDonald, Chicago, CCR, Dave Mathews, Sting, & YES Barry Manilo (King of the Big Finish) and being from the mountains, I Love Bluegrass... Lyricly, I've been influenced by authors and books: "The God Chasers" Tommy Tenny "Jerusalem Countdown" John Hagee "Anointing Fall On Me" TD Jakes "Evidence That Demands A Verdict" Josh McDowell And the latest, "Hell's Best Kept Secret" a must read by Ray Comfort But mostly I've been influenced by those people who have planted a little of themselves in my life. People like my papa, Ellis Allen, who is bar-none the greatest preacher I ever heard. As well as, and most importantly, a Great Man. Also have been impacted greatly by Lester Estelle Sr.. He's not only a great guitar player but a very wise and gracious & patient Godly man. I've been impacted by my father-in-law, Bud Houghton, who has been my example of a true heart of worship. (and I don't mean at church) I mean living a life of continual worship. My pastor, Dennis Slavens, probably unknowing to him, has taught me what it means to be a student of the Word. I dig deeper and longer in search for the truth. Kevin Seaton, in my opinion, the best Worship Leader I've ever known. Although very talented, it's the heart, teaching, leading, the consistent walk day to day stuff that makes all of these people so much of an impact. If they didn't walk it, it wouldn't mean a thing. And the best for last, my wife Julie is the most influential person in my life....!
Sounds Like: Rock Foundation Recording Artist, Lindsey Phillips, is a singer / songwriter with a distinguishing style of rhythmic guitar playing and vocal ability. Lindsey's one of a kind style provides a unique blend of music that must not only be heard but experienced to be fully appreciated. Voted 2001 vocalist of the year by Embassy Music in Nashville and KCCM's 2003 and 2004 "Acoustic Rock" artist of the year, Lindsey's voice is refreshing moving in and out of well-crafted lyrics and melodies that are as enticing as they are intense. Sounds Like It's Americana music. The best description I've heard so far is it is a mixture of Rock, Acoustic, Jazz, Gospel, the whole 9 yards all rolled up into a "Linzified" tonal experience. LOL! Man! I don't know. I get so bored with one thing that I'm constantly switching it up when I'm writing. That's the best part of being a writer. It wouldn't be very creative to do the same thing all the time.
