She has been married 13 years to her high school sweetheart, John and the love of her love for 20 years. She is a paralegal by trade and is in the process of going to law school soon to become an attorney. Another love and passion of V. McBride's is event coordinating. Since coordinating her own wedding back in 1995 she has grown to love coordinating and organizing all types of events from weddings to children's parties. This love led her and her husband to start their own event coordinating/party planning business in 2003, JonVee Services. Her church family is the wonderful Holy Spirit Ministries where her God-parents are visionary, ( her spiritual father) and anointed Pastor Avery Jones along with his powerful in the Lord wife, (her spiritual mother) Evangelist and First Lady Albertha Jones. Along with singing with her church's praise team, she ministers with Spirit of Life Choir under the direction of Pastor Avery Jones.She attributes her love of music to her mother, Stephanie, her late father Clayton and her aunt Joneva. Her earliest experiences with singing and performing occurred at home with her family's talent shows when she was six years old. Her family loved listening and singing to all types of music and they helped music become a major part of her life. Because of her family's love of music V. McBride was surrounded by all genres of music. She grew up listening to Natalie Cole, The Spinners, Earth Wind and Fire, The Pointer Sisters, Barbara Streisand, Stylistics, Minnie Rippleton, Elton John, Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway and Lou Rawls. Later when gospel became the forefront of her life those artists turned into contemporary and traditional gospel greats as well as contemporary Christian artists. God has given her a heart for the youth and through this she also has developed a passion for Hip Hop Gospel.She first began singing in front of audiences other than her family when she was thirteen and continued singing by performing in talent shows, exhibition shows, weddings, banquets, funerals and graduations until she was 24 years old in 1996. It was not until late 1998 when she re-dedicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was born again that she realized the true purpose for her voice....to be a vessel and an instrument to sing God’s praises.She was lead under God's direction to George Lopez Promotions and Kaleah Sounds, Inc. where a covenant relationship was birthed under the guidance of her other spiritual father, Chaplin Dr. George Lopez.Because Jesus is V's healer, God has given V. McBride a heart for those with medical issues, the youth, especially young girls as well as those who are hurting and feel forgotten. The mandate that God has placed on her life is enormous but V. McBride says just as the Word of God says, "Here am I Lord, send me."
