I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a mother, wife and author who lives on a farm in Wisconsin -- best known for my novel, THE DEEP END OF THE OCEAN, the first book chosen by Oprah Winfrey for her book club in 1996.Since then, I've written seven more adult novels, some of them bestsellers, the last two novels of suspense, as well as two picture books and two kid chapter books.I am excited to be working on FIVE books for teens that have been called "amazingly realistic" (in other words, there's a message, but it's not gonna bore you!)I have a cute husband, and SEVEN kids, including three young men you can meet on MySpace but only if you're nice.I love to ski, SCUBA, swim, ride horses, watch 'Law and Order,' and sleeeeeeep during the day. If I had 100 pairs of shoes, they'd all be Uggs. I wish they had Ugg high heels! I love Babette SF clothes, but not the frumpy ones.My favorite places are Cape Cod, Maui and Tuscany (I can dream!) All music, from R&B to Broadway to country -- no putdowns of girls, please! -- get me up off the seat. Sound boring? I am. But my books aren't!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Readers. Writers. Ponderers. Pundits. Wits. Music Lovers. Politicos. Filmmakers. Documentarians.Nice people, a little eccentric.
