My name is E.P., short for Eddy Parker. The son of Bia da Luz, father of Joshua Tylo Kayden (aka Mr. Boo Boo). I’ve always believed that when I grew up I would either become Prince or Michael Jackson. Is this what they call a “classic example†of reaching for the stars but never landing on one? Possible.
I’m demanding, sometimes on the edge of being obnoxious. I act like a big hyperactive child when I’m in my comfort zone. However, I’m dead serious when it comes to business. I can be difficult to deal with even though I think I’m easygoing. What else? I love tattoos. I’m into almost impossible colorblind clothing combinations and cruising in my low rider on hot summer days. I love sex and of course doing the “Bob Marleyâ€!
Ok, now let me take you back to the future. The year is 1990 (New Jack Swing era). As a 10-year-old boy, I used to dance in a group called Stylistic along with Nelson and Nelson and won numerous prices in Europe and Africa.
After a long period of hoping and praying to be the next famous soccer player, reality finally struck and in the new millennium I landed in the boy band Quatro. The group which then went through a name change to Quatro+ (I was the plus). The band released 2 albums and sold over 25,000 copies independently. Curious thoughts often hit and I cant help to think out loud- where did the money go?
Q+ was all about rock-n-roll, alcohol, women and sold out shows in countries like Mozambique, Angola, UK, USA, Italy, Portugal and more.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end. In 2006 Q+ fell apart due to some personal crap and everybody sort of went their own ways and I was no exception. OK, now that you know a little bit about my history, let me fill you in what E.P. in the present is all about!
I am not your political, revolutionary, environmentally conscious, earth saving type musician. Not that I don’t care, I do have layers; it’s just that I express myself a bit differently. That’s right, I referred to myself as a musician. I consider myself musician first, rapper second and singer possibly 11th?
Music is an infatuation. Making music to me is like writing a diary, an open book that reflects my emotions, memories and experiences at that particular time. I find inspiration in creative minded people or that good old 80’s pop (I’m sure you remember Nena with 99 red balloons or A-ha with take on me?). Even my father whom I didn’t grow up with drives me to a certain level of creativity.
So with that being said, my main goal is to reach all high school kids, lawyers, housewives (or men), ballerinas, roller-skaters, trekkies, columnists, rockers, salseros and Ghetto Zouk lovers, the optimists, the worrywarts and hit them upside the head with some of that Good, Fresh, Energetic, Passionate E.P. Music. Hope you like it, if not ring the alarm!!!!!!!
