Now , it's easy to get the artists to think differently but hard to get the customers to do that. Tattoo customers are about as conservative as Republican Bankers. they buy the same designs years after year and they stick with what's safe. Peer group pressure is really intense. They're afraid to get something different or so unusual that their friends will laugh at them, so they get the "nautical star"..ie over and over. When they first get involved in tattooing they make a giant step: "I'm going to get a tattoo". Now the next thing is .....you have to make another step. What are you going to get ? So they make a giant step and then they make a baby step. "I'm going to get tattooed and I'm going to get something real safe because I've made this big unsafe commitment"...But occasionally you get those people who take that double giant step, and thats when tattooing really gets sweet....Rollo "Rip"
