Paolo Sereno

About Me

Paolo Sereno was born Puglia, in the South of Italy, but he moved to Parma, in the North of Italy, where he lives and works for the University in Parma. In 1996, at the ADGPA Convention in Italy, Marcel Dadi called Paolo Sereno on the stage during the evening Final Concert to play “One for Marcel”, his first “superpicking” composition dedicated to the great French master. After this incredible first time with some of the greatest finger-style guitarists (he shared the stage with guitarists like Paolo Giordano and Ed Gerhard) Paolo played in other great musical entertainments. In 2000 Paolo played his guitar in concerts at the Venice Carnival and he also “shared the stage” with brilliant performers like Tim Sparks and Muriel Anderson in some other concerts. In 2002 he played opening acts for William Ackermann and Don Ross who had beautiful words for him. Then he came out with his first CD “Con la Chitarra” (a self production) which contains seven original compositions and seven covers (some of them played with his acoustic quartet) like “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” for fingerstyle solo guitar and a special CD-rom track with the tabs shown in the CD: a new product in the field of acoustic guitar works. In 2003 he began a collaboration with the American folksinger Jacqueline Perkins and won first prize in the “New Sounds of Acoustic Music” as the best author/performer on acoustic guitar with his Method on Superpicking and Fingercussion Guitar dedicated to Marcel Dadi’s "superpicking" guitar technique. In March 2006 he had the chance to perform with Michael Manring and Jacqueline Perkins in a tour. In the same year he played as a solo guitarist in around 50 concerts in Italy. In 2007 he gave a series of important concerts: among other: San severino Blues Festival with Patti Smith, Robben Ford and Larry Carlton and presented his "The Movie Concert" dedicated to the best movies soundtracks arranged for solo guitarFor any comment or info please don’t hesitate to contact him on www.paolosereno.com email: [email protected]
