The Live Long Day - "Button Up, You Might Catch a Chrorus"
Since GetOuttaThePool.com hit the internet back in July 2004, the website has always been seperated into two catagories; movies and MUSIC. The very first band to be video-taped was Lance's longtime friends whom he'd known since kindergarten Chyi Wang and John Bonham of the band, Your Best Friend . We then traveled the local scene to bring in more bands around the area such as; 88 Miles Per Hour, The Natalie Fight and Somewhere Safe. The idea was originally to bring more than just streaming mp3's, it was to showcase these bands in the area LIVE.
In 2005, our live videos were given the name GOTP LIVE, short for obviously Get Outta The Pool LIVE. Sticking with the local scene, but then what seemed unimaginable..mainstream bands like; Mae, Copeland and The Starting Line were now being shown on Get Outta The Pool!
GOTP LIVE had a new concept, to show not only bands live, but to also include the experience of a live show. Which ended up being the Party Boys, Lance and Ryan getting drunk and video-taping shows. We even managed to get backstage at the 2005 Van's Warped Tour!.
When co-founder and owner, Lance Martinez relocated to Hollywood, California the show continued. In 2006, Ironworks Music's Rocco DeLuca & The Burden was featured in the VH1 rockdoc, I Trust You To Kill Me along with inexperienced tour manager and co-founder of Ironworks, Kiefer Sutherland. Not only in the movie, they were also on GOTP LIVE! The video became very popular on MySpace. Speaking of popular, with another trip to the Warped Tour GOTP LIVE we fortunant enough to get UNDEROATH on the site, not once, but twice! The Underoath Warped Tour video became Get Outta The Pool's 2006 Video of the Year and the most viewed video in our history! You can expect a whole lot more in 2007 from GOTP LIVE!
