Drive and determination to succeed is one half of the force behind IN OVO. The other is there gripping sense of rhythm and insightful lyrics. Without fear of bearing there soul, there music addresses issues that all can relate to and crosses over throughout metal, rock, hardcore genres. This has given them the ability to reach through and appeal to a wide and eclectic audience of all ages.
While other metal bands are clamoring to come up with music that’s heavy, fast, chaotic and hardcore, IN OVO is bringing back old school southern heavy metal. Former Curse the Form vocalist Scott Wisecarver and former Brotherhood guitarist Joshua Stetz originally realized the concept for this new breed of melodic and organic music. Wanting to build a group that shared their drive and passion for music, they ultimately teamed up with former King Furious bassist Ned Brandt he brought a sense of diversity to their sound. Then they added drummer Galen Miller, both of which brought a sense of cohesion and fluidity to the project. The New Year of 2009 brought us Colin Varville as our newest addition to the band as lead and rhythm guitarist he brings in a harder more cutting edge sound that will give us a whole new perspective in the New Year to come. IN OVO refuses to cater to the latest trends in modern metal. With over 30 years combined experience on the local and surrounding areas scene, it was agreed from the beginning that this project would be a labor of love. These musicians are driven by the desire to create something heavy, bringing the melody back into chaos.
