Officially christened on January 24th, 2007, the Bind is a three piece band, formed from the likes of many different musical backgrounds, and many that are the same. Peter, Wanda, and Paul began playing together in 1994 when Paul and Wanda’s band "Fred’s Two Feet" needed a drummer for a show. Paul was playing guitar at the time, but having experience playing drums, decided to step behind the kit and let Peter have his way with those songs on guitar.After "Fred’s Two Feet" came to an end, Wanda and Paul moved to Texas for a short time and played for a band called "Jill". Peter continued to rock out in bands such as "Mother Bear" and "No Matter". In 1996, they joined forces again in the band "Cromwell", this time with Paul back on guitar, Peter on Guitar, and Wanda on Bass. "Cromwell" became "Winterset" in 1998.In 1999, while Peter was enjoying a hiatus from Winterset, he enlisted the help of Paul and their friend Robbie ’Ole Rob’ Hennig to form The Puritan Solution. They played together for about 6 months, just long enough to write a few songs which would later be used to start the Bind. After Peter re-joined Winterset, the Puritan Solution was quickly disbanded. Winterset eventually broke up in 2003.
