In early 1998, shortly out of high school, I purchased a Fostex multi-tracker and microphone to compliment a cheap guitar, bass guitar and drum machine. I created Poison Lager Studio, where to this date I have recorded all of my music. I incorporated poems of teenage angst, lost loves and broken promises into musical compositions and created my 1st CD in November 1999 under the name Sordid Affair. I released it on my personal record label, Nefarious Suplex Recordings. The album was carried exclusively by, the then, world renowned Tower Records.
After the anti-climatic end to the 20th century, recordings became intermittent. Poison Lager had to change locations on 4 different occasions and a folly of bad relationships hindered production.
In early 2006, I combed through 26 different tapes and was able to create 3 new CD's and 1 new EP of unreleased material that dates as far back as 1997 and as recent as February 2006.I, Mike Crawford, am the Sordid Affair.
