About Me

i am a singer/songwriter. my mom still calls me emmy. if you look closely, i have sunflowers in my eyes. i laugh a lot. i talk too much. i like to stay out late. i love a boy named jimmy. to me, everYthing is a story or an adventure. i believe very much in the kindness of strangers, its impossible not to with the crazy stories i have to tell. a free spirit, always searching, but a chicago girl at heart, I live in NEW YORK CITY, though I desperately miss Chicago pizza and my ridiculously huge irish family. i got my voice from grandma, my heart from my mama, my love for football from my brothers. my sister is my favorite red head, my dad, my favorite sense of humor. i dont understand people who cant LAUGH at themselves. life is inherently funny. and beautiful i think. i just finished my masters at NYU and finally landed a job as a social worker in brooklyn working to find homes for those who dont have them. i dance like a MAD woman, but i SING to keep sane. i love birthdays. mine always lasts a month. i play music for kids who are sick. i am CURRENTLY IN THE STUDIO recording a new ALBUM. i love lazy sundays. i love summer days at wrigleyfield. I look corn-fed, but sing jAZZ. I hope my songs make you sMIlE!
