About Me

We provide information, support, referrals, advocacy and other services to LGBT survivors of violence including domestic violence, sexual assault, and bias crimes, focusing these services within the Kansas City metropolitan area.KCAVP also educates the community at large through training and outreach programs about LGBT violence.

Ways to get involved with KCAVP:
    Fundraising Committee--Planning special events like house parties and to help raise funds for KCAVP.Outreach and Education Committee--Hanging up posters, handing out brochures and other information about KCAVP at events, passing out information at bars for Safe Bars Safe Nights, and helping to identify opportunities for tabling, education, and outreach.Administrative Team--Working together to provide support for KCAVP staff and board of directors including helping with mailings, phone support, etc.Lobbying Team--Visiting and writing legislators, attending lobby days at Jefferson City and Topeka, and helping with grassroots efforts to help spread the word about LGBT violence.Board of directors--Governing the organization.
