Oblivion

About Me

Oblivion first came to life in Piotrek’s basement during October 2002 when Yann (drums) and Piotrek (guitar), started playing together. Maks (bass) joined the band few weeks later in the Christmas holidays.. Looking for another guitar player, they unearthed Slash clone Adrien who stayed in the band for two years. The band’s influences during this time were primarily heavy-hitting metal and hard rock music, and they covered bands such as AC/DC, Black Sabbath or Slayer. In the latter stages of this period, they also began to create their own identity, writing original material and expanding their musical horizons. The band’s name also underwent several permutations, from Random Heroes to Decapitated Saints, before Oblivion was definitively settled on. It was only after Adrien left that the band drifted towards stoner and crossover music with some funky overtones (tool, kyuss, jane’s addiction...) and in january 2006 found another great guitar player – Karim, whose incendiary solos and fresh ideas injected new life into the band. Oblivion are a group with many different influences and ideas, and their live shows offer something for every taste, from funk to heavy metal, with energy and aplomb. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to catch their next gig!
