Bonsom

BonSom is a collaboration between saxophonist Eyjolfur Thorleifsson, guitarist Andres Thor Gunnlaugsson, bassist Thorgrímur Jónsson and drummer Scott McLemore. The group was formed to perform at the Reykjavík Jazzfestival in 2006. Soon after that, BonSom made their goal to combine rock, punk and traditional music and arrange for a traditional jazz combo. When time came to write music, every member contributed equally and BonSom emerged with a unified and individual sound with emphasis on interaction and arrangements. After a successful concert at Café Rósenberg, where the group received praise for an energetic and fresh approach, they decided to record and release their first album as a band wich is out june 14. 2007 (see www.dimma.is).
