Born in the borough of Camden, North London, Alexis's musical journey started way back at the age of 4 when he started taking piano lessons. Trained classicaly, he passed his grade 8 at the age of 16, winning national music awards and performing at St. John Smiths Square amoung other prestigous venues. His love of dance music started when he was just 10 listening to pirate radio stations such as Weekend Rush, Phantasy, Dance and Kool Fm. He bought his Technics 1200's at the end of 1994 aged 13.
His DJ career started in the mid 90s across the pirate radio stations of North and East London under the alias of Lex. His first gig was in 1996, at the tender age of 15, at the Powerhouse in Finsbury Park. From then it was a residency at Bagley's (canvas), playouts at Camden's trendy Dingwalls, the legendary Paradise Club Islington and many more venues.
In 2002 Alex took a break from music to persue a degree but returned to Djing in 2005. Between 2006 and 2009 Alexis played under various alias to return in 2010 to stick with his one name and one style, deep groovy house music with an oldskool twist.
2010 promises to be a huge year for Alexis as his productions begin, with his first track Never Been Before being apploaded amoung DJs across the scene as a great first attempt track.
His new night Luna Vita launches at Cable in Feb 2010 with a showcase from Nick Curly's 8 Bit records label and his new weekly night Creche starts in the same month, a free sunday party for the new decade with 8 residents, guests and two rooms of music.
