Ive been playing the piano or playing with the piano for 18 years. My background is in concert band, jazz band, orchestral band in which I played drums, trumpet, piano and a little harmonica(blues). I never really took piano lessons just played by ear since 13. I had a private jazz trumpet lessons for 7 years and played in 3 award winning school bands in my formative years, including CMEA (cal music education asso) 3 time conference excellence award. After lower education I continued to study music at community college in jazz piano theory. I found it to be a lot like math class. I didnt really want to know all about major 5ths, diminished 7ths etc.. I was more into just finding it all out on my own. I dropped that class, and never took music in school again. I decided to make music fun and never something I was taught more like something I learned my way. I took a look at what I wanted to do with music to make it my music based on all the music Ive made or heard all my life. I began studying home based recording and sequencing in the early 90's and have been absorbing and creating for years. My latest instrumentals are a culmination of jazz influences mixed with urban hip hop undertones. I have always loved fusion and expierimenting with new sounds and styles. Although my current projects are in jazz others include symphonic, soundtrack, orchestrial, trance, lounge and others. I am currently working with local area artists on individual and group projects.
