Live at the Stripclub

Its Showtime

About Me

"Dirty electro rock with sex obsessed punky charm. Like a turbo-charged Sigue Sigue Sputnik scrapping with the Human League on amphetamines. "
Out of the urban sprawl of London, comes ‘Live at the Stripclub’ - a three piece with a new electro rock attitude. L.A.T.S.C. was formed by Joshua Weller and Adam ‘A.D.’ Ellis. The two first met in 2004 after being introduced by a mutual friend. Adam had been writing and producing his own material after turning his back on a career as recording engineer while Josh was pouring his time and energy into a project that was not his own. The pair forged a friendship in their spare time and while Adam’s stories of creative freedom were enticing, it did not occur to either that they should combine their talents. It was not until their paths crossed again in 2006 that they decided to try playing instruments at the same time….. Together! And so, Live at the Stripclub was born. The name ‘L.A.T.S.C.’ spawned from Sydney’s infamous red light district Kings Cross and was only fitting as this was the home and playground for A.D. for a number of years.
With the pair drawing on influences from every music genre known to man and woman the ideas stemmed, flowed and then poured out into the debut album “Showtime”. But it has not stopped there …. Instead of stepping back to admire their work they decided to relocate to London where larger, broader audiences could be found. They have taken the songs to an unsuspecting and fast growing audience in the form of an energetic two-piece live act. So now, instead of darkened studios the pair have found a new home under lights with Adam very busy on drums, samples and vocals and Josh equally so on guitar, keyboards and lead vocals. New member & bassist Calvin has rounded out the sound with dirty bottom end riifs. With a style that’s difficult to pinpoint and songs that sit as easily on the dance floor as they would on commercial radio, Live at the Stripclub are creating their own niche in the music scene.
The short and catchy “ The Signs” hints at Gary Numan and Human League influence while the first single “Private Dancer” is an unabashed power punk pop song that’s sits on a shelf all of its own. Re-mixers are currently working on different tracks off the album, which sets to widen their audience even further. real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
