Hola! I am the arteest currently known as Corry.I'm a mom, an artist, a teacher, a latina, & a girl trapped for 31 years under ribcage, sweet meats and cotton blends.
I believe in God and appreciate the beauty of order, although my life is chaos most of the time. I think it might be self-enduced ;)
I fell in love with a planet at a party. So I do believe in love at first sight.
Jupiter captured my heart when I saw his crooked little smile in an old man's telescope at a star party.
I'm imperfect,
I like pizza with olives and pepperoni,
I am a mixture of Mexican-american, Portuguese, Irish and English.
In oils I paint the mexican culture, which moves and eludes me. I struggle with identity and language.
I paint women because I come from a matriarchy of the most dynamic women I have ever known. I paint women because my friends are women, and because I am coming into 'womanhood' (finally!).
I also paint in ink and watercolor. Most of these tiny pieces are very personal and contain lines of lyrics or literature. I'm a sucker for words. I LOVE the way an author/poet can leave you feeling stung after reading a line. Then add music?? Fahgetaboutit! I'm putty!
I believe color is a vessel that moves us from one emotion to another. Color is the creme de la Creme! And I loveeess me some cool-whip!
