OROBOROS: (or-oh-bor-ous) Welcome to the myspace home of the Twin Cities Progressive and Experimental Hard rock/Metal band, OROBOROS! We symbolize eternity, oneness, and strive to make music that represents the soul of the world, as it is today. The Ouroboros (sic) represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. i.e. Primordial unity. This is where experimenting with not only the music but the effect it has on the conscience and subconscious come into play with OROBOROS. Musically we strive to begin anew on each and every song or cycle, uniting the opposites, making it so that each song has a completely different soul from the last.
When digging into the music itself, you will find it is full of religious and mythological symbolism, and is also ripe with alchemical illustrations, political and sociological muses, all pulled together by uniting the opposites once again with out conflict. Throw in the power of a OROBOROS live show; with its mixture of a energetic stage show, a ever building light show, Oroboros’s dynamic array of music, and then samplings from Richard Andrew Grove and his 8th Estate Public Media & Research work, it will not only test your conscience but challenge your subconscious.
