About Me

Hello Campers, my name is Gary Crowne, I'm from N.Ireland and I'm currently living in Edinburgh. I am studying for my last year of sound engineering / production in the Jewl & Esk college.I have been producing now for about 4 years and I've been a DJ for over ten years. I'm now 23 years old and wish I was 16 again!I love all sorts of music from old 60's funk records right up to the latest electro and techno releases.As a DJ I would have to say that Richi Hawtin is one of my biggest influences and as a producer it's anyone from Curtis Mayfield to Chris Clark.I've also been a club promoter for different nights over the years, the most recent being STATIC which I ran with 2 mates back at home in Ireland. We had guests such as Phil Kieran (out of "Alloy Mental") and Fergie, both of which I had the pleasure of warming up for!I plan to start STATIC in Edinburgh with a few mates over here. Just waiting for the money!!!!!! LOL. But should be starting after xmas!I'M AN OLD SCHOOL DJ THAT BELIEVES IN VINYL!HAPPY LISTENING PEOPLE

Influences: I take alot of influence fom electro and techno producers like, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Mark Broom, FelixDaHouseCat, Speedy J, Ben Sims, Plastic Man and lots more. Also I take influence from hip hop, funk & soul artists like, Curtis, Al Green, Dj.Shadow, PreFuse 73, Aretha Franklin, Def Jux label, James Brown, Jurassic 5, Wu-Tang and Herbie Handcock. Also people like Aphex Twin, Pink Floyd, Can, Kraftwerk and the american Detroit techno scene I hold close too.
