The band "VaTaipVat" originated when it's present members, drummer Stepas and bass player Donce, because of the musical restraint, decided to leave the band in which they used to play before. The idea to create a new band was on the top of their minds, but there was a lack of instruments and no place to rehearse. The enthusiasm was huge though. And then Zabulis appeared. He helped the new band and became it's first and present guitar player. Not long after "VaTaipVat" got the place for rehearsals and the band's activity began.
Edga was the first vocalist of the band, but now he plays saxophone. When Edga began playing this reed instrument, Natas, the second vocalist, joined. Funny thing, but he was also replaced by the third vocalist. From May 2006 Kepchius sings in “VaTaipVat†and is the lead vocalist of the band.
From the firs days of band’s existence all the members wanted to play ska/punk, but it's impossible without the wind section. So there are two wind players – already mentioned saxophonist Edga and a trumpeter Adas. He replaced Arnas, who used to play hornpipe.
“VaTaipVat†counts it’s age from the first gig in 5th of March 2005.
P.S. There are also those two guys in our band - Slima (the mascot:) and ex-hornpiper Arnas. He's our sound engineer now. But, hey - "shh!" - it's a secret!.. :)
