bete noire

About Me

bete noire was formed in may of 1993 in a drunken stupor on a break from college. the first tape ("cleaning the poop") was promptly dubbed over. snippy (r.i.p.) was around on the outside. sky (r.i.p.--all 24 lbs. & close to 2' high when he'd stand up & as close to a maine coon as i'll ever get) was listening on the inside with my grandmother (r.i.p.) & my mom as well as my sister. shortly after i began releasing tapes on a monthly basis (sometimes weekly). close to 40 cassettes at last count (with many missing or untitled). b.n. has done splits with the earwigs, sonic disorder, gamma steam plant, richard ramirez, the product, man becomes woman, total shit project, & a few others. there's also a limited ed. split cd-r with bowel fetus. releases have slowed down A LOT in the past few years. if you want to release a split with b.n. get in touch, but realize that it might be quite a while before it gets done. bete noire was never anything to be taken seriously, but it's something i'll never let die either. there's never been a live show & probably never will be. if there is, imagine gg allin meeting dissecting table or hijokaidan). in other words don't get on stage. recording is something that i'll do when the urge (usually a somewhat drunken urge) strikes. also in charge of clot/unit dead (both started in 1993 & hugely influenced by black fucking mayonnaise--the lord of sludge/doom--& nurse with wound, but sounding nothing like either), a zombified & extremely low-fi sound fuck, as well as a few others. hope you hate all of them. and fuck you, twat.
