Looking for rugby in Philadelphia?...You've found it
Our Homepage is www.skillrugby.com
Schuylkill River Exiles Rugby Football Club was founded in 1995 and is the only mens club in Philadelphia, PA who train and play in center city Philadelphia. The club has accomplished a lot going into its 15th year of existence, winning Division III outright in the fall divisional 1999 season and advancing to the final 8 in the nation in the spring Division III playoffs.
In the fall of 2000, our first season in Division II, we became one of the first teams ever to go from Division III to Division I in two years by winning Division II outright. In the spring of 2001, we once again made the National play-offs by competing in the Division II Sweet 16.
In 2001, we competed in the Division I Championship Division shocking many by finishing in second place in our first season in Division I.
In the spring of 2002, Schuylkill played mostly Division I clubs and competed strongly proving that we were for real and here to stay as a club in Division I. Unfortunately, a one point loss in the MARFU play-offs stopped us from getting to Nationals three years in a row in three different divisions.
Fall 2002 we began our competition in an even harder Division I comprised of MARFU Superleague and Division I teams only. Since that point we have competed among the highest levels of domestic rugby, and our sights on the highest honors in the land.
In 2006, Schuylkill River Exiles made it to Division 1 USA Sweet Sixteen in Columbia, S.C.The club is young, hungry and willing to practice and play hard to become the best Division I club in MARFU, the highest level of divisional rugby in the U.S.A.
We practice @ 19th and Washington Aves , our home pitch is Broad and Pattison Streets , adjacent to the old Veteran's Stadium.

O'Neals
is our proud sponsor and home bar located at 3rd and South Streets in Philadelphia. Our other sponsor is Hoegaarden.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

An open letter to domestic and overseas players interested in joining our club.

Thank for your interest in our club. We are always looking for domestic and internationals players to come over and play and/or assist in coaching.

We know you will find our club and the city of Philadelphia quite accommodating.

First, a little about the team. We are the only Men's club in Philadephia, Pennsylvania who train and play in Center City Philadelphia. The club has accomplished a lot going into its 13th year of existence, the club consistently has over 40 members for matches and occasionally reaches a third side when playing against teams who have an equal number of players.

As for the city of Philadelphia, it is the oldest city in the nation and the original capital of the United States. It is the 4th largest city in the country and conveniently centrally located only hours from ski resorts, beaches, and other major cities such as Washington, Baltimore, and New York City. Philadelphia enjoys a great nightlife with lots of clubs, pubs, museums, and every major American sports team. We are also home to some of the greatest restaurants of various ethnic groups.

I am the primary contact for domestic and overseas players who wish to come to the USA and play for our club. You can always reach me at the following email address if you have any questions: [email protected]

Cheers,

Mike Burch,
Recruitment Coordinator
