Ursprünglich waren sie nur die background Band von Al Krivoy, doch Al hat sehr schnell realisiert, dass die 3 jungen Musiker der eigentliche Grund waren weshalb Leute die Konzerte besuchten. Al zog sich von der Bühne zurück und somit war Al and the Black Cats geboren. Ihre Musik ist schwer zu kategorisieren, es ist eine Mischung aus Rockabilly, den Al ihnen beigebracht hat, und Punk Rock, mit dem sie aufgewachsen sind. In den ersten 12 Monaten der Bandgeschichte haben sie 2 Alben veröffentlicht, "The Fabulous Rockabilly Sounds of" & "Shakin' At the Knees", des weiteren tourten sie durch mehr als 15 Länder in denen sie tausende Fans gewonnen haben. Von vielen werden sie als die neuen Stray Cats bezeichnet aber Al and the Blackcats ist mehr als ein Rückblick in die Vergangenheit. Das ist Rock’n’Roll wie er klingen muss!! Mit ihrem letzten Album "Givin' Um Something to Rock & Roll About" das bei Sunny Bastards Records erschienen ist bekamen sie spitzen Bewertungen überall in der Welt. Es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit bis sich der Name Al and the Black Cats für immer in die Hallen der Geschichte gebrannt hat, als die Band die Rock’n’Roll zurück gebracht hat.

You have heard the story before: Four small town guys get signed to a label, go on the road and live their dream...and yes, it's true. Sure, these guys aren't millionaires and they don’t drink champagne for breakfast. They have paid their dues in sweat, beer and many miles on the road across Europe. From London to Rome, Stockholm to Paris and so on. The last few years on the road have made the band a high class live act.With two critically acclaimed albums behind them, "Cracked Wide Open and Bruised" 2005, and the breakthrough "Doin' You Nasty" 2006. The single “Hometown Hero”, included on “Doin’ You Nasty”, got high rotation on the Swedish national radio and on stations all over Europe. Now it is time for the boys to kick it up a notch!"Babylon's Burning" was recorded at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm, between some German and Italian shows. In other words, the band was tight as hell when they started the recordings! "It was an obvious choice to work with producer Chris Laney" says frontman Dani. “We wanted to do it big, with Chris's string arrangement ideas and to record everything intense during two weeks and a lot of pre-production”.The first single from the album, "Goodbye Good Luck", was released on Itunes in late 2008 as a teaser. Although the sound was much harder than before, the band still managed to keep the great melodies they are known for. Now, in 2009, the band comes full circle with new bassist Ricky on board and an album that will blow you away!Second single out is "Liberation", a “smack in the face song” they already open their shows with, release fall 2009.
