i'm vicky...i'm loud and i laugh a lot! thats the best description of me, and anyone who knows me can confirm it! im very creative...i'm constantly drawing, writing, painting or making something. i make random things all the time, as when i get an idea in my head i cant sit back and do nothing! i briefly had the idea of becoming a prop-maker, dabbled in costume design and have an interest in jewellery making but settled for a freelance career of my first and bestest love ... illustration!
I love creating work using many different mediums and in many styles, though primarily my works are in watercolour, pencil and pen, and occasionally acrylic and collage. I have written many children's books (unpublished as of yet) in varying age groups and am also atempting to write a few novels as well...that is, whenever i get a few spare hours here and there! as well as the children's market i enjoy illustrating in the areas of fashion/costume, greetings cards and burlesque.
Anyway, i love looking at other peoples illustration and i'm constantly amazed at how many brilliant artists there are out there! so, i hope you like my little page of scribbles! Any advice/comments are welcome.
RAINBOW MAGIC
Having a love of fairies i was offered a very magical opportunity to produce the artwork in some of the popular Rainbow Magic titles ... i of course accepted! since then i have produced two bumper holiday specials, contributed artwork to 'Fairy style fasion sticker book' and 'Fairy stencil sticker colouring book' and designed the seven front covers for the newest set of Rainbow Magic books - the Sport Fairies. i will also be producing the illustrations for five out the seven sport series ... so keep your peepers peeled next year for them!
