GUEST ARTIST & OPEN READING:THE 2nd WEDNESDAY of EVERY MONTH @ 7 PM ISABELLA'S at Ryan House, 1375 LOCUST DUBUQUE, IOWAWe are a network & outlet for writers & word lovers. We live under the umbrella of the Dubuque County Fine Arts Society whose non-profit mission is: FREE ART FOR THE MASSES. Annually we publish a book project, a grass roots free press anthology of regional talent. Monthly we offer writing workshops. The Tour De Force is our Monthly Reading featuring a Guest Writer with an open reading to follow. Why do we do it? To keep free press alive & offer the opportunity for publication. To handle the language of the writing process in our mouthes & on the page.To offer working artists economic opportunity. To identify our writing community & establish solidarity. So YOU CAN GET YOUR WORD ON in an intimate venue that nurtures the vulnerable soul of a writer. So YOU have a stage to showcase your project. So ALL recognize the power of the spoken word & the importance of cultural awareness through the arts. The writing community of Dubuque is alive & well. We're here.
