I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm an aspiring writer looking to translate my twisted and macabre imagination into something that doesn't involve my going to prison. I write mostly in the genres of Dark Fantasy and Horror with my latest novel being a Young Adult book.

My Interests

Writing; with the hopes to one day be published. Amtgard; the aggravating lure which consumes so much of my time. UFC; the closest this broken-down old man gets to a fight these days.

I'd like to meet:

People of intelligence who have something to say or those who share my interests. I deal with far too many stupid people away from the computer, I won't tolerate you here.

Who I'd Like to Give Thanks to:
We are the Home of the Free because of the Brave.
Give respect to our Armed Services who keep us safe at the expense of their own lives. Because of their willingness to fight the enemy on foreign shores, we're allowed to live our lives without the fear of war here at home. Remember that the next time your Liberal Democrat Politician tells you he intends to de-fund the war effort.

Music:

I'm an avid Heavy Metal fan. I won't bore you with an exhaustive list of the bands I enjoy. Instead, I'll just name a few so you can get an idea as to what I listen to:Candlemass, Venom, King Diamond, Metallica, Voivod, My Dying Bride, Anathema, Nevermore, Cradle of Filth, Acid Bath, Fates Warning, Solitude Aeturnus, etc.

Movies:

I enjoy all kinds of movies but a good drama is always best.

Television:

I don't watch much TV but I do keep up with certain series. The Shield, Rescue Me, and most recently, Lost. A new addition would be Battlestar Galactica.

Books:

I'm a huge Clive Barker fan. I also read the occasional Stephen King book and I enjoy Anne McCaffery as well.

My Blog

Ultimate Fighter Finale

This should be a fun night mainly for the Guida - Huerta fight. I'm not one to presuppose the winners in any fight, my record is way above par in it, but I'm still going to--stubbornly--pick who I pre...

The Life of Death

Dissident choirs sound the toneA voice of sorrow o'er fields of stoneWhere grim and tenebrous souls do layThe necromancer's will holds swayAnd 'neath the waxen moon, spells and cantsThe words cast out...

UFC 76

This was an interesting event, both exciting and disappointing at the same time. The Machida - Nakamura fight went almost as I had expected except for Ryoto turning it up a notch. Machida came in fast ...

UFC 75 Redux

All I can say is wow. This event showed how predicting winners can blow up in your face. I was one for five.Fortunately, this is a good part of why I love this sport. It's true combat in the sense tha...

UFC 75

While watching Randy destroy Gonzaga was the highlight of my MMA month, I'm looking forward to tonight's event.I'm not one for predictions as I know from experience that anything can happen in a fight...

UFC 72

Despite the subdued nature of the card (it was originally intended to be free on Spike TV), I found 72 to be enjoyable, albeit not earth-shattering.The Guida - Griffin (Tyson that is) fight was of cou...

UFN

Damn, I love watching these fights. Sadly, as it sinks in that my brawling days are behind me, the more often I find myself rooted before the TV and computer watching every fight I can find.Anyway, on...

UFC 71

As usual, here I am with my commentary of the latest UFC event. And also as usual, if you're not interested in my bullshit, don't read it. I don't do this for anyone but myself.Liddell-Rampage had all...

PrideFC 34

This was definitely a more explosive event than UFC 69. Once more Sokoudjou one shots his opponent into unconciousness. For a guy with a 4-1 record, he sure is handing Pride's big name guys some serio...
