We need to tell the Powers That Be that people need services, education, affordable housing and a living wage job in order to exit homelessness. We keep talking about homeless people hurting the economy and our quality of life. We feel that statement is blown out of proportion, scapegoating by politicians, because through gentrification, the dot com bust, NIMBYISM and the even more economically fatal September the 11th event, has left San Franciscans and the rest of the country more frustrated than we’ve have ever been. Now the collective belt is tightening and it’s hurting all of us. It’s sad to say but some politicians find it convenient to redirect some of that tension towards poor and homeless people, a highly visible group of people.
