EDDIE STATS* Best known as the resident selector of HEAVYWE1GHT Sessions, New York's longest-running / most visible dancehall event. Along with partner MAX GLAZER made Thursday night synonymous with reggae music over a 5-year run from 2001-2006 at a range of venues including PARLAY, MISSION, MANNAHATTA and HIRO lounge.* Has earned special recognition for breaking international sounds like Bhangra, Bollywood Afrobeat, Baile Funk, Reggaeton, Kwaito etc in the urban domain. A resident at Basement Bhangra and Bollywood Disco. DJed New York's official Indian Independence Day after-party alongside DJ REKHA and BALLY SAGOO. Invited abroad by the U.S. State Dept. to headline embassy-sponsored tours of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Armenia as a representative of American DJ culture.*In addition to his activities as a DJ, he currently works as a contributing editor for FADER magazine. Has contributed to the Encyclopedia of Popular Music, MTV TEMPO, TRACE, DAZED & CONFUSED, TOKION, XLR8R and Seattle's Experience Music Project museum as an expert on DJ-driven music.
