EDITED BY TY COOPER.The coordinators of Lifeview Film Festival consist of filmmakers, previous festival founders, and your basic movie-goers. The objective of the festival is to provide opportunities for independent filmmakers and for movie-goers to have options other than the same type of stuff Hollywood is continuously pushing out. This yeari..s festival will consist of screenings, workshops, panel discussions, spin-off events, and a film competition. Filmmakers will jump for joy to find out that $10,000 in cash prizes will be up for grabs. The competition will also feature a sub-category awarding $1,000 to a student filmmaker, as the festivali..s way of encouraging students to i..stick with iti^. The festival has an open call for film submissions. Submission applications is available online with a submission fee of $40 for regular submission and $20 for students. Every submission received and accepted into the festival, will receive a free online dvd distribution (valued at $40) by one of the festival sponsors. All-access passes to the festival will also become available allowing festival patrons access to all festival events including all screenings, workshops, panel discussions, and selected spin-off events. Individual screening passes CONSISTING OF MULTIPLE SCREENINGS will cost $5.00. Workshops are facilitated by industry experts in the area of film production, acting techniques, animation, and video editing. Spaces will be limited to 40 people per workshop. Lifeview Film Festival tm is not just for the filmmaker/aspiring filmmaker. The festival will screen over 20 movies including short films, animations, documentaries, features, and music videos. The festival will also invite celebrity actors to become a significant cornerstone of the weekend. Basically, Lifeview is bringing Hollywood to Norfolk.
