About Me

Allan Humphreys (aka DJ Assassin) started as a punter in the early 90's Sydney rave movement. With most of his friends already involved in the scene as either promoters or DJ's, Allan found a love for being in control of the music rather than just dancing to it. Early local influences such as Sugar Ray, Phil Smart, Freestyle & Sasha help direct and shape his musical style and tastes. In 1995 Allan got his first break with a guest residency at Funky Flips, run by Simon Stoker (aka DJ Freestyle, aka DJ D-Cyphr) at the City Hotel. From there he has had made appearances and held residency at clubs such as, The Breakfast Club (Tailors), Motivate (Hotel Bondi), Funk-A-Nation (Metropole), Addictive (CBD), Bang (Palladium), Flavour 3, Instinct (Palladium), Bar Cleveland (Surry Hills), The Bay Lounge (Neutral Bay), Airport 1 & 2 and Eden (Oxford Street) to name a few. After retiring from his residency from Eden in 2001, Allan took a 5 year break from DJing, however 2006 brought new sounds and styles that reignited his passion for dance music again. Since his re-emergance, Allan has made appearances at Diversity, Empire and at One Night In Heaven-NYE 06/07 (a wharehouse party held at the Balmain docks). DOWNLOAD MY EXCLUSIVE MIX FOR PLUSH HERE

It was late afternoon when I heard the first chirp of a Cicada in the nearby trees. The sound and the heat brought the sense of an early summer and that afternoon I headed into my studio to record what was to be the first of a 4 part series over 4 weeks. Each set is code named after a species of Cicada found in Eastern Australia that represents a particular sound or mood I had been in.So sit back, relax and listen to the sound of the Cicada....Tom Thumb: BREAKS
Black Prince: TECH HOUSE
Double Drummer: PROGRESSIVE
Green Grocer: DEEP HOUSE
