Q: Where did you grow up?
A: In Leiden, in the western part of the Netherlands.
Q: When did you start playing guitar?
A: I started playing when I was 14.
Q: What was the first song you learned on the guitar?
A: I think it was When I Come Around by Green Day, my friends and I used to listen to them a lot.
Q: What do you do in daily life, other than playing guitar?
A: I study Industrial Design at the Technical University in Delft. I also play the drums in a band, Kangaroo Dynasty . You should check out our website , and listen to some of our songs.
Q: Who are some of your (musical) influences?
A: I like John Mayer, Jamie Cullum, Jack Johnson (What's up with all the J's?). Also, the Beatles, G Love and Special Sauce, Green Day, No Doubt (especially the older records), the Foo Fighters, Racoon, Soulwax, Amos Lee, Beef and so on.
Q: How did you record your songs?
A: I recorded the songs with a friend of mine, Chris Tieken . The studio we used was actually his own student room in Leiden. I stood by the mic playing the guitar and singing my tunes, while Chris played with the settings on his laptop.
