The synergistic combination of talent between Becky Wreck, well-known punk veteran whose reputation precedes her (the original drummer of the all-girl punk band, The Lunachicks), and vocalist/acoustic guitarist, Allegra Prosper (Angoramachinegun) is a love story played out on stage and recording.
Prosper's background spans punk, poetic melodies, rock and roll and folk. “I’ve been playing for a long time and no music lately has touched me in the way Allegra’s has,†Wreck says. The feeling is mutual. Prosper is alluring yet vulnerable, hard yet soft, with a unique voice she uses as an instrument and a guitar she meshes with her lyrics to paint pictures with words.
When the incredible drumming style and backup vocals of Wreck are added as a driving force, there is nothing like their musical dialog. "We took the attitude of punk and a love of all music and we created a sound that is uniquely ours,†Wreck says.
They perform original material and recently released a debut CD/EP. (which is available - ask how.) They have a loyal local fan-base, starting to spread internationally (thanks to those who are making that happen, including those on MySpace) and captivate any new audience.
