About Me

MyGen Profile Generatorus: Robert brought us together and gave us our name at the beginning of 2006; since then we've rehearsed off and on and performed 3 times (at Galata Perform and at Transit [Istanbul Improvisation Days]), the last time with dancer Esra Yurttut, we all thought this was good and it's something we wish to develop in our gigs; we also hope to make an album during 2007
the music: our take on Free Music doesn't mean music free of antecedents, free of context, rather it means no musical holds barred, music which draws on all the resources of the players, in dialogue with itself, with its context, as well as dialogue between the players and the dancers we perform with; it also means an obsession with sonic texture, and about how improvization can be instant, unfolding composition, freed of the formal limitations of notation and musical rules, where the risks are high, where music merges with psychology, where the players have to gamble in the interest of making a music which has meaning
