Please visit www.georgejonesuniversity.com for more information, to register for GJU, or to purchase merchandise!George Jones University (GJU) is a no-nonsense, straight-ahead clinic dedicated to teaching students the basics of how the music industry works and how aspiring students can deal with the challenge of breaking into the business.The “University” will assemble quarterly, each being a three day instruction session (Thursday evening through Sunday Morning.) Topics to be covered include artist management, booking, record labels, song publishing, life on the road, and the role of each major industry association (CMA, BMI, etc.) After each lecture, the floor will be opened to vigorous question and answer sessions. Also, each morning will begin with a brief lecture pertaining to the history of country music, and the role that Nashville has played. In conclusion, GJU will teach the basic “ABCs of the Music Industry” and will be available to aspiring entertainers and the public for a fee of $400 per student. (DOES NOT INCLUDE HOTEL.)
