About Me

Matthew Miller is a thirty one year old guitar virtuoso, who has been playing the instrument since he was eight years old. Instructed by his uncle, Tom Conley, he started playing country and rock n roll like it was born in him. He started his first rock band when he was in the eighth grade and performed at school dances, and parties in the local area with great success. By the age of sixteen, Tim Bushong of the band Love War, called him one of the most tallented guitarist in northern Indiana. Entering into numerous talent shows and guitar playing competitions, Matt proved that he was a force to be reckoned with.At eighteen he was performing hard rock in a regional band called The Solemn Vow, but Matt said "It wasn't the scene that I was looking for". Feeding off of the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix his inner blues was driving him to change up his style and play from the soul and not from the theory. So Matt spent the next few years honing his deep rooted southern rock and blues skills. He joined a local touring band called Mindshank to give his metal skills one more try, but he just wasn't happy with his style of playing with that style of music. In 2002 Matt started a band with his uncle and guitar mentor Tom Conley and his brother in law Mike Lease. "I wanted to start a band that was of my own creation" said Matt. "So I asked Tom and he thought that it would be a great time. But there was only one catch to the story, Tom didn't want to play the guitar with me in the band, he insisted on being the DRUMMER!" In the end it worked out great. The band played southern rock and blues all over the area with huge success. Then in 2005 he got the call from Larry Miller of the national touring band, The Clayton Miller Band (CMB), and also his family, that they wanted him to play guitar for there band. Matt started touring with them and finally got to live out his dream of sharing the stage with some of the all time great blues players that he had grown to love. In November of 2006, while with the CMB, Matt got the pleasure of recording at the Blue Room recording studio in Nashville where he worked with producer Charles Yingling. After leaving the CMB, Matt performed many solo acoustic shows around Indiana. In 2008 Matt reunited with his first drummer, and one of his best childhood friends, and started a power rock trio called Mr. Mustachio with there friend Nic Williams pounding the bass. They will be hitting the streets in 2009.
