THE DAFFODIL SONG
The Daffodil Song comes from Scotland's thriving urban acoustic modern folk singer-songwriter scene.
It was written and performed by acoustic duo Poachers Too (brothers Ian & Gary Smith) who teamed up with rising singing talent Vivien Scotson and percussionist Will Purdie.
All the participants have volunteered their time, talents and energy, pro bono, which has nothing to do with U2!
The purpose is to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie through people buying a download single online, turning the virtual into a reality.
This is a worthy cause as there are few people who have not been affected by cancer be it through family members, friends, or indeed personally.
As Gary says,
"We just felt we wanted to do something and considered spending the long cold winter months training for a marathon, but the alternative of doing what we love, in a cosy recording studio with big leather sofas seemed more appealing. Likewise, a click on a button at home on your PC is all anyone needs to do something as well."
Ian adds,
"Even if you've never downloaded a song in your life and even if you only ever do it once, then download The Daffodil Song."
Never was so much done to name a few ...
