Texas Parish

We lived down south cause the south is the best. We play hillbilly, country, rock and roll music. Trying to define who we are as good, southern rednecks. Writing songs on the front porch while the sun goes down and Norma Jean is in the kitchen cooking up some delicious apple pie. Then someday one of them government folks told us… Son, you better go up north if you wanna do something with that music! We found a mighty fine recording studio where some guy paid us to sing into his box, yes sir! And then we went on the road. We play them dance halls all over the place. We played Nordic Friday Bar twice, we played Ethnography Friday Bar once and we even played this place called Gyngen. We covered some private gigs. We had an appearance at Aarhus Student Radio were they made us sing into a box. And then we went on the road again. Some people pulled us over started drawing their guns. They were a bunch of rednecks – real white trash – so we bought them a beer and had mighty fine time during our little hillbilly barbecue.
