About Me

Hi Im Dave aka dj DWARE Been djn for around 8 years , habitually clubbed for approx 16years (approximation due to excessive clubbing). Was brought up (some say dragged- not true ma & pa) listenin to The Beatles, Rolling Stones through to Sly and the Family Stone, Marvin Gaye and Dire Straits with a little Motown and Irish rovers ontop The incredible diversity and passion my folks had for their own styles of music rubbed off onto me leaving me with a twin blue mo-hawk thrashing out Metallica through a fretles Vester bass guitar and singin "Sanitarium leave me be!!!" but still gettin down to Public Enemies "Fear of a black planet" . The way music ,not just electronic, is moving today I find that Breaks encompasses the broader spectrum of diversity that i crave, as well as remaining TOUGH and wickedly structured.Anyone that wishes to pay me full time to DJ Id gladly jump at the opportunity. TA, I enjoy long walks on the beach so long as there is a farkin fat PARTY at the end of it. My favorite things in the world are outdoor parties with loud Phat PAs excellent lighting and mean DJs, very like Rhythm & vines in Gisborne NYE. Mad to miss this party.. Ive now taken over the reigns of the BFM radio show The Warning 11pm to 1 am fri nights. Playing alot of electro/breaks with a bit of techy house and anything else that tickles my fancy. Basically huge basslines with a kicking snare is where I come from. Lately MC Bling has been joining me in the studio which has been making for some farkin good radio along with assorted guests playin upbeat punchy beats to kick start your weekend into a higher gear . So tune in online or if your in Auckland turn on your radio cos I know its already tuned to 95BFM anyway. PEACE. Check out my lighting videos at http://www.youtube.com/daveslights

Band Members: DJ Dware.
Influences: ; early rock an roll, motown, Metallica, Public Enemy for earlier influences. These days inspiration comes from the likes of the Plump DJ’s, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors, Meat Katie, Lee coombs, Anything on finger lickin, Streetwise or functional. Loving Rogue Elements tunes and recently been enlightened to Malente’s freakin SICK FUNK infused breaks. Groove Allegiance , Sokolov sounds (Vlad), Bassbin Twins, Passenger (label) and Freq Nasty are some of my all time favourites , but lately I’ve found that when your on Juno’s website checking out what other people who bought the same album . Some insane bangers have been found this way, Check out LBJ.. The DJ i give the most Kudo’s to would have to be Krafty Kuts ,although when I met him I was left thinking he was a bit lacking in certain necessary social graces, although I’m told he may have been having a shitter of a day cos he’s normally "kin choice", anyway , every time I’ve seen him DJ, or more accurately lack of seeing whats going on as his hands move across equipment that is well familiar to myself but I’ve never made them sound like that and I can see my hands cos they’re not a blur.
Sounds Like: Fat tunes mixed well !!
Type of Label: Major
