Here's some bio blurb. .

Lonnie Lee, one of Australia's true Hit Parade Music Legends has done it again!

The current show is as exciting and unique as his past shows with new songs, new stories, new staging and a new profile that is bound to attract new audiences.

The Legendary blues band CHAIN, call him the father of Australian Rockabilly, and another Aussie Legend Russell Morris says, Lonnie Lee is the REAL THING.

He is no clone pretend show. The number one and Gold Hits he sings are his own and virtually every song he presents are from the many best selling records or CDs he has released over many years. As well as more current songs, he takes his audiences back to his roots from the passive 50s hits of 1957 to the classic rockers!! Many of the songs were also written by this singer songwriter including his latest singles and albums.

No, these are not club land renditions! He does them all with a unique Lonnie Lee edge and freshness, which has audiences sitting on the edge of their chairs, itching to get up and dance.

He also includes an extremely popular segment where he reflects on some singers who influenced the young Lonnie Lee such as early Elvis, Marty, Ricky, Buddy, Chuck, Johnnie Ray and others. Styles visited include rockabilly, blues, rock, country, rocknroll and impact ballads.

No one is left out when visiting a Lonnie Lee show, he is not just loocked into that era. So many of the guys and gals in the audiences were around when he had his first hits. They love the show and they love him! Tom Jones is not the only one who gets aduration from the young.

The show cannot be just called a rocknroll show as it is not just that. It can only be described as a show featuring one of Australias most successful Hit Parade and Television stars of the last 45 years, who is more vibrant and current today than ever. The Leemen are always an integral part of the show, with their wonderful harmonies and musical excellence they truly are a supportive band. In the first part of the show, they take the audience on their own trip through a great selection of songs, including their own tribute to some of the great stars of those early days.

His Australia wide appearances to nearly 200,000 people on the most successful all Australian show ever, Long Way To The Top, have accorded him with accolades from all areas.

Each night he was introduced ..

"In the early sixties, no one had more hits than this guy, he was great then and he is greater now... Here he is... Lonnie Lee"

Lonnies peers on that tour such Ross Wilson of Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, Jim Keays of Masters Apprentices, Matt Taylor and Phil Manning of Chain, Billy Thorpe, Normie Rowe and others, paid him one of the biggest compliments ever, when they credited Lonnie and his early rockabilly style of singing, as being one of the main reasons that they wanted to enter show business.

His current shows are in venues include inimate dinner venies, large auditoriums, casino theatres and outside festivals such as the Gold Coast's Wintersun Festival where he headlines nearly every year. This is where he has recently twice received the publicly voted awards Australia Post's Best performer Award and Best Nostalgia Artist Award.

His recent releases include a DVD 'Good Rockin' Tonight' and singles such as 'Cant you see it in my eyes', 'Best Friends' and 'Lonely Nights' all from the newly released album, 'Light of Love' which is getting excellent critique especially from the young female buyer. The gentle ballads are great as a romantic 'mellow' mood enhancer!

The new June release country rockabilly album, 'North West Mail' is a colection of Lonnie's songs which in mmnay caeses tell his own story. It is an example of his unique writing and singing style and although mnay say he is similar to Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash and an early Elvis, he is really just Lonnie Lee doing HIS thing! There are some samples of this album on the Lonnie Lee web site.

His full catalog is still in demand and releases on Starlite Records include, The Definitive Original Collection Volumes 1 and 2 where each Volume is a 2 CD set which features 26 of his early rockabilly tracks from 1959 to 1964. The second CD has lots of vision for a DVD or CDrom player. Volume 3 of the collection features 33 songs he performed on TV Shows 1959-1972 such as Bandstand, Six O'Clock Rock, Sing Sing Sing, Johnny O'Keefe Show and many more.

Looking and acting unbelievably younger than his years, he is still a 'today' act in 2007. His audiences are made up of Baby Boomers and young adults who want something different than what they get on music TV and format radio. The new romantic ballads album, 'Light of Love' will definately put a little romance and gentleness back into your music as it glides across many areas of love, and the esxciting 'North West Mail' takes a country rockabilly trip down through much of Lonnie's life and caeer in song.

Band Members: Lonnie Lee's CRY! Show - I Believe!

Lonnie mainly only performs with his band The Leemen. There have been quite a few members over the years but at the moment we have, Brian Dean on Lead guitar, Alan Freeman on bass, Leon Isackson on drums, Tony Burkys on guitar and Peter Forrell on keys. All the band sing and perform their own segment at the show, whilst Lonnie plays guitar and sometimes piano on his 90 minute show. The band then provide 4 part harmonies for Lonnie.A piece of music history.. The Leemen circa 1959-1964 were the first Aussie band to have an instrumental hit the top on the national parades. It was 'Johnny Guitar'. They released several singles and albums themselves at the time.
Influences: His early influences in pop were Frankie Laine, Nat King Cole and the great Johnnie Ray. Influences in rock 'n' roll when it came in, were Elvis and some of the other early rockabilly artists. In country music it was Hank Williams, Geiorge Jones, Webb Pierce, Lefty Frizell. From 1959 he has had his own style which has morphed over the years but which is still uniquely his. One knows without question Lonnie's voice and presentation.
Sounds Like: Whilst he does have his very own style, if one had to put it in a box with similar styles, it would have to be an early Elvis, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash etc. They all play guitar and have a similar stage and vocal presence.
