About Me

I learned how to DJ in 1991 during my college years in San Francisco. During the years that followed I took it upon myself to further my knowledge of the DJ world especially in Hip-Hop. I started publicly DJing in 1994 on 90.3 KTUH FM college radio under the name "DJ Min." I DJayed there with the assistance of many local talents until 1996-97ish. I then decided I wanted to learn more so I moved to New York in March of 1997.I lived in Williamsburg, Bklyn for the past 10 years and during that time, I DJed on KISS FM as the "DJ Prime Minister" from 1998-2000 during mix-master weekends and filling in for the KISS classics show on Saturday night. Some of my mixes were featured on the KISS FM R&B Hits CD in 1998. I also did radio production for both HOT 97 and KISS FM for the mix shows and morning shows. After having a fire at my apartment in Brooklyn I felt it necessary to re-invent myself for all my previous DJ work was now gone.I moved to Weehawken, NJ and handle the DJ name "DJ Min One" now and have released DJ party breaks and remixes since my residing in Brooklyn, one of which was my most successful, Alicia Keys Reggae Remix "You Don’t Know My Name" (One Nite Stan is my witness dammit!!!) which got picked up on the VP Reggae Gold Compilation for 2004. I still DJ in New York once to twice a week now and am currently learning more of the production world in music composition or beat making. Still down with the Spin Dynasty and still doing my mixes whenever I can.You can preview some of my latest works on my myspace page. There will be more to come soon!
