J Anonymous " The Sound of Music" Everyone asks the question, Why "Anonymous"? What made you call yourself that? Well here is the story! My first debut as a DJ was playing at my sister's birthday party, I was then labeled the family DJ, and I played for all my relatives' and neighborhood parties. I eventually ventured out into the real world in 1977. I got together with some close friends - Brian Wooding, Adrian Blandin, Peter Young, Brian Lopez, Carlly Pantor, Carl Jagdeo, Richard Francis & my cousin Andre Julien. The first gig as a no name DJ was St Dominic's Convent in Malick Barataria. We were off the hook and the girls at the school branded us with the name "Anonymous" as we did not have a name. The name stuck and today we still exist. (So we have to thank those girls of St Dominic's). In 1984 I left Trinidad to live in New York City. I put my DJ skills to work and I eventually landed a job at CJ's Entertainment Center as their house DJ. The club eventually closed down and reopened as The Ark. Anonymous' popularity grew among the colleges and we played for all the Caribbean Student Associations which made Anonymous very versatile as we played for many different islands, including French & Spanish speaking islands. The group was Sean Richardson, Richard Francis, Colin Raeburn & myself In 1987 I got together with my very good friend Benton Christian and started promoting our own parties and we built up quite a big following. My brother-in-law Jan and his cousin Jerry owned a clothing store called" ItchiBaBa." Benton and myself got together with them and brought out a promotion called ItchiBaba Promotions. Anonymous has been the house DJ for ItchiBaBa Promotions since then, regardless the location:Trinidad, Miami, Toronto or New York. Anonymous would have never achieved any of their accomplishments without the support of the party people, promotion groups & fellow DJs . We would like to thank the people, DJs and Promoters for all their support. We would like to thank all the Anonymous family members, especially my mother and father (we couldn't do it without them), as well as the Anonymous Fans for their continued support in the Disc Jockey world: Brooklyn, Miami, D.C., Toronto, Trinidad & Tobago and Caribbean Posse
