O FRACAS formed and live in Leeds. Alex and Ben have known each other since school. They argued then, they argue now. Its part of the writing process; a fight with an amicable outcome. They found Jim wandering about the moors one day. Luckily social services hadn't got to him yet, so they took him in as one of their own. No one really knows where he's from, some say its just one of those mysteries of life, others say Adel. And then there's the one-armed bassist Matt, who's struggle through adversity shows us all we can do anything if we really put our mind to it. Matt, we salute you! (Theres also a mystery fifth member nowadays, he's very elusive, we're not even sure what he's called, but he plays a mean maraca, and thats all that matters) x

Sounds Like: Guardian Unlimited "If Factfinding and And So A Scratch Runs Down A Wall are any measure, Fits & Starts will be the first great album of 2008."

Drowned in Sound 8/10 "even on first listen Fits & Starts is given an instant air of familiarity... helped along by an almost deceptive amount of depth... impresses as a debut" Loud & Quiet 9/10 “Spontaneously eclectic, it brims with ingenuity and agitated momentum that’s giddily infectious. A restless success.”Huw Stephens BBCR1 Introducing... Album of the WeekNME the sort of idiosynchratic, off-kilter us Brits should make more of... engaging album of post punk, nutty folk and avant-garde rock."Plan B 'You Can Hear The World From Menwith Hill' and the acoustic pop of '16 Beats' are stunning and indicate future greatness. New Noise O Fracas might be a british indie-rock group who contain as much substance as style in their delightfully whimsical genre mash up."Gigwise “We can now add O Fracas to the list of brave new bands”Manchester Music 4/5 "Refreshingly different and ostensibly raw."Subba-Cultcha 4/5 "A very interesting band... could just be one of the biggest things on earth come 2009..."Leeds Guide “If you thought indie bands had lost the ability to surprise, think again”"The single (Zeroes And Ones/What Jim Hears) is of course better than a thousand high fives - agit art pop that could only fail to make your body shake if your soul is made of lead and far too heavy to make itup to the great CBGBs in the sky." - ARTROCKER

"Shockingly good, and they know it." - OLIVER GOODYEAR, GIGWISE.COM
