Sup - keeping along with a musical theme here's the latest topic to feature on my Videodrome; the "Posse Cut". This is term for a type of song that's practically dead in hip-hop music now - where rappers spit on a bare and ruthless beat delivering the hardest verse they can to confirm that they're the best MC around. Unfortunately, as rap music has become more of a business than an intense hobby; many rappers nowadays are rapping about the same thing - anything that'll get them some money; therefore the posse cut has become somewhat redundant.Anyways - below are a few of my favourite posse cut tunes, this is what real rap music used to sound like. Don't get me wrong - the current underground and mixtape scene is still doing its thing, a real good posse cut is a thing of the past now, so enjoy these classics...
