About Me

Roomful of Blues is very happy and pleased to officially announce our upcoming release RAISIN’ A RUCKUS on Alligator Records. You are listening to some of the new tracks and we’ll be changing tunes periodically. The album was recorded in mid 2007 at Sonalysts studios in Connecticut. Roomful’s new release will hit the streets on January 15th 2008. As always, our online store will have plenty of copies available, so check us out in January here
Even though Roomful of Blues’ lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. In 2007, singer Dave Howard took over the vocal duties, bringing his gritty and soulful vocals and adding another bright new dimension to the jazzy, jump-blues musical roots. Their winning combination of jump, swing, blues, R&B and soul remains their calling card, as does their ability to fill the dance floor. Along with new members, bassist Dima Gorodetsky and drummer Ephraim Lowell, and longer standing members keyboardist Travis Colby, baritone and tenor saxophonist Mark Earley, tenor and alto saxophonist Rich Lataille and trumpeter Bob Enos, RAISIN’ A RUCKUS (named after Rich’s jazz romp instrumental) swings with ferocity and rocks with urgency and purpose. Moving effortlessly from originals to carefully chosen covers, the expertly executed songs sizzle from start to finish.

Band Members: ROOMFUL OF BLUES IS VERY SAD TO ANNOUNCE THE SUDDEN AND TRAGIC DEATH OF OUR BROTHER, BOB "BUBBA" ENOS, WHO PASSED AWAY IN HIS SLEEP EARLY THIS MORNING, JANUARY 11, 2008.

Bubba was a mainstay of the band, putting the sparkle on top of Roomful’s legendary horn section. His energetic, searing attack, whether soloing or as part of the ensemble, made the band’s sound immediately identifiable.

Bob’s obvious good humor and enthusiasm made it clear that this man thoroughly enjoyed his music. Bubba's personality was bright and infectious, and all who met him felt his spirit. Watching Bubba perform was always a delight, especially his signature moves, known to some as “Bubba-isms”.

Bob played professionally all of his adult life.
