unambiguous friendship loves. good spellers. and real people who can make conversation hilariously and freely.
i love glam rock and guilty-pleasure sugary pop songs for their pure ludicrosity, punk for it's absolute energy and forward motion, world music for the instrumental and linguistic variety, acoustic and (neo)classical goodness if they divulge true musical prowess, lyricism and hip hop for their cultural and political timeliness, ethnomusicologist field recordings because they awe me and surprise me all the time, and bluegrass if it ACTUALLY sounds like bluegrass (i'm a traditionalist there - god, i love the true drawl and shrillness). the records dearest to me don't need an explanation at all, i think - joy division, pixies, cramps, naked raygun, antipop consortium, bikini kill, stereo total, bauhaus, bad brains...
sans soleil, the atomic cafe, cool hand luke, clueless, adaptation, the agronomist, harold and maude, the battle of algiers, spinal tap
