Originally formed in 1980, THE PIGGIES were the pioneers of the lookalike/ soundalike age, well before most of the current crop of Tribute Bands were even born. Through constant touring, in the UK and abroad, the band quickly gained a reputation as the most authentic 60s/ Beatles tribute in Britain, with an array of vintage instruments, flamboyant costumes and an attention to detail that, to this day, cannot be rivalled.
In 2000/2001 THE PIGGIES starred in their own production ..THE BEATLES REVOLUTION SHOW.. which ran for 17 weeks at the Folkan Theatre in Stockholm perfoming to over 50000 people. They also appeared live on Swedish national TV and radio.THE PIGGIES 'CLASSIC GROUPS OF THE 60's SHOW' takes you on magical mystery tour from Merseybeat to The Rolling Stones Hyde Park concert of 1969, taking in The Summer of Love and Flower Power along the way. Artistes portrayed, both musically and visually, include The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, Cliff and The Shadows, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and many more.
