The person I’ve admired from the first time I saw was Evgeni Plushenko, a magnificent figure ice skater. He has earned the titles of World, European, Grand Prix and National of Russia Champion. In addition, in 2006 he succeeded in winning the gold metal on the Winter Olympic Games at the early age of 24.
What immediately struck me the first time I saw him on TV was his excellent appearance on the ice stage, his passion and glory in every move and his perfect execution of his skating program.
However, Plushenko didn’t become the great figure ice skater he is from one day to another…but he had to overcome a number of obstacles and make many sacrifices.
When he was 4 years old, Evgeni got the most unexpected and definite present of his life, his skaters. Since then he has hard and and unceasingly in order to become the greatest skater of all times. Unfortunately, at the age of 11, he had no other option than leave his hometown and family in order to move to the capital city of Russia and continue his training as his rink in Volgorad was closed. There he had the opportunity to meet and be trained by one of the greatest coaches, Alexei Mishin. Plushenko was practically living on his own once the visits of her mother was rarer because of her work and he maintained himself by working and depending completely on himself.
Being totally alone, with the rest of the older ice skaters of his group teasing him, he was trying to execute difficult skating figures in order to distinguish.
As time passed, he managed to turned into one of the most successful athletes of his kind. His reputation on the high difficulty of the programs that he presents which include astonishing figures such as combination of 4 different jumps.
Moreover, Zhenya is one of the very few male skaters that perform the Biellmann spin. It's true that some male skaters know this spin, but when they grow older, they don't use it anymore.( The Biellmann spin is a very hard spin, even for the ladies, it consist in lift a free leg, behind the back and held it over the head while spinning)
Needless to say that he is admired by many people from all over the world and he is condidered to be one of the most important personalities of Russia.
