Discolored Perception

About Me

Memphis Rock and Roll saved my soul. The new track from Discolored Perception says it all. 16 years and still alive, DCP have become one of Colorado's longest running independent bands. Still DIY after all these years not many have the accolades of these punk rockers from the Roaring Fork Valley. Sharing stages with Dead Kennedys, Quiet Riot, Agnostic Front, The Blasters, Agent Orange, Blitz, Throw Rag, Lower Class Brats, Total Chaos, Vice Squad, and on and on... They even rocked CBGBs in New York City twice before the club closed in 2006. Who is this band? Crankin it out from deep in the mountains of Colorado any punk rocker work his salt has heard of Discolored Perception. Lead by the group's founder singer/guitarist "Memphis" Linzy with a 78' Les Paul Custom and a JCM 900 Marshall stack. Bringing the backbeat is Chester Molester, the Alabama Slammer, that drummer is all foot! Brooks Werner, low end, Fender P-bass with an Ampeg 8x10 and Travis Redd holds down the rhythm guitar with a JCM 800 Marshall and a Gibson Explorer. A recent article in the Aspen Daily News by music columnist Jason Hood claims "long live rock and roll" after witnessing an inspiring gig. The band has created its own scene around its contagious blend of old-school Punk and Country and drive audiences into a fanatical hysteria wherever they play. The group has been featured in skateboard and snowboard videos on Fox Sports, Hawaii”s Ballistic TV, and ESPN's Winter X games. The new single “Memphis” was put in heavy rotation by local radio station KSPN as well as Memphis' own WEVL. Look out for Discolored Perception and may rock and roll save your soul!
